October Obsessions

Website
Thought Catalog
So many honestly written articles which make me realise how I'm not alone in my twentysomething worries. Particularly 'How to make friends after you graduate' and 'Why everyone needs to just accept that they're a creeper on the internet'

Exhibition
The Grundy Art Gallery's current exhibition 'Mass Photography: Blackpool through the camera' is so worth a visit if you're in the area. Full of nostalgic images from the early 20th century British seaside to present day stag and hen hotspot, it makes Blackpool feel a lot more interesting.

Tim Brown - Blackpool Tram (1990)
Music
Which leads me to...

Film
Drive.
I loved everything from the silky scorpion jacket to the brutal head crushing and synth pop soundtrack.

Decor Insipration
Apartment Therapy is so full of beautifully decorated rooms and jazzed up furniture. It's pretty much impossible to not find home interiors inspiration.

Fashion
Getting cosy for winter with my new chunky knits courtesy of the Topshop sale. I'm going heavy on the darks and wine red.

Design
I love these movie poster designs by Alien Corset, which I came across in the Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester.
Nosferatu seems rather fitting.

Tea of the Month
Roobios - OK I only bought it the other day, so it was a late entry to the month, but I feel it was a good purchase.

Front Row.

...Metric.

Hello Blackpool. Hello Steals. Thank you for my warm welcome.

Plus a beautiful long teal trench coach with black netting underneath - think its a couple of seasons old so can't find it on the website, along with a cream blouse with zip ruffles round the neck.
Told myself I would be taking plenty back so it's okay to spend so much, but it seems I may only take 1 or 2 things back =/

And the worst thing is that I know I do not need them, I'm simply too selfish to let anyone else snap them up. Oh dear Oh dear.

Zero.

...Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

It's been a while, pretty busy pissing around with bits of uni work, working at my usual sloow pace.
I do now have a temporary free-hosted website alexjones.atspace.com, still needs a lot of work, but think that will have to wait until I get back from Canada as it's gunna be rushrushrush until then!

Recent happenings...
Went to Leeds last weekend, a little visit to Jack's, meeting Tom and Matt there as well. We went to his gig with the Young Sergeants, which was only their 3rd gig so think it was pretty good!

Since then I also had a visit from my mum yesterday, had lunch in town and she treated me to a jacket, which was out of stock yesterday, but alas I popped back today and it was in, yay! :) Gosh full price item in Topshop, I do feel extravagant even if I didn't actually pay for it!

Also, big news for me; Tootsie Roll has landed in Selfridges Food Hall! Beckie bought me some the other day, it has taken me 3 days to run out of that bag so I've had to go back for more, eek!

Finally got round to downloading the new Yeah Yeah Yeah's, Metric and Maximo albums - so far so GOOD.

Women's Needs...

...The Cribs

...When in despair, SHOP SHOP SHOP. I just can't resist, my £7 beauty.

I'm not sure how I've manged to spend so much today. First off I had to pay £16.50 for my dentist to wave his little mirror around my mouth, real off letters and numbers to the dental nurse, and ask how uni is. Fair enough this is my fault for not filling in the form so that I don't have to pay, but it was sooo ridiculously long I'd rather just pay the money! Anyway, defs need to sort that out and get a refund.
Then had 2 hours to kill before my hair appointment, which lead me trailing round all the charity shops (there are at least 10 that I counted!!), looking for a new bag since my fav one broke. Anyway, not much look in finding a replacement but I did pick up another which was quite cute, all embroidered. Then forked out for a new foundation, since leaving all my make up back in Birmingham I've been using one of my mums which is just all wrong for my complexion so it had to be done.
The to the hair dressers, she hasn't done a great lot to it, just a trim of the split ends and fringe re-shape which I might have to mess with myself. I hadn't realized just how long it's gotten either! Right now it's very hair dresser straight, so might have to jump in the shower before getting ready.

Tonight off to Jenx for my birthday celebrations with a few friends (I don't have many). Last night had 'the team' over for new series of the Inbetweeners -was GREAT. I would insert Youtube clip, however they aren't available to my country....yeah that's right a UK programme is not available to UK viewers...wankers.
Also yesterday went for a trip to the seaside, with my good friends AJay and Linzi, we had an ice cream, a paddle in the sea, a walk along the pier and then for a smoothie. Pictures still to come :)

Brighter than sunshine

...Aqualung.

Latest £5 buy, pretty pleased with this find :)

Walking to the bus with the blue skies and warm sun was looovely.
I felt like it was time to put on my school summer dress with white frilly socks. Like we should be rounding up the local kids telling them to get their swimsuits on because the sprinkler and hose pipe was coming out. Or my grandparents were loading up the car with a picnic and the dog and we would be heading down to Brock Bottom..... Such good summer memories.
Quite a productive day, rearranged my dentist and hair appointments for Friday, and picked out my birthday present from my sister.
Currently snacking on breadsticks and humous before my dad comes to take us for tea at Nanas.
